SUMMARY:ROOTSTOCK RACING – THE ENDLESS MOUNTAINS EXPEDITION RACE
DESCRIPTION:The Endless Mountains Adventure Race offers teams of 2-4 an opportunity to explore the PA Wilds by foot\, mountain bike\, and boat\, all the while navigating the course using map and compass skills. This year we are offering two divisions: the premier five-day expedition race\, which is part of the Adventure Race World Series\, and a 30-Hour “Lite” event that will introduce newer racers to the sport of adventure racing. The premier event covers 350 miles of wilderness terrain in the PA Wilds with shorter options for less experienced teams. \nAlong the way\, teams will encounter local history\, paddle scenic waterways\, climb and traverse rocky ridges and mountainsides\, trek and bike through some of our state’s most remote forests\, and encounter Pennsylvania’s abundant wildlife. Teams will work together to overcome the challenges that only expedition races can bring: being tested to their physical and mental limits with challenging overland navigation\, wild terrain\, and weather that can tame even the most hardened outdoors enthusiasts. DESCRIPTION:Sunshine shows will be on the midway starting Tuesday June 27th-July 1st!!\n\nSunshine shows will have all your favorite rides ranging from kiddie rides to bigger rides. They also will have that delicious carnival food with all the sweet treats that your heart desires!!\nNo one can resist all of that!!\n\n\n\nPet parade to kick off the week. Line up in front of the community center at 5pm and parade starts at 5:30pm sharp!! All pets and battery powered kids vehicles are welcome! We please ask that there is no gas powered vehicles unless they have been approved by the pet parade chairmen.\n\nTuesday-Midway opens at 6pm\, $20 wristbands!\n\n\nWednesday-Midway opens at 6pm $25 wristbands\n1st night of our annual 1\,000 club drawing\n\n\nThursday-Midway opens at 6pm $25 wristbands\n2nd night of our annual 1\,000 club drawing\n\n\nFriday-Midway opens at 6pm $25 wristbands\n3rd night of our annual 1\,000 club drawing\n\n\nSaturday-Midway opens at 6pm $25 wristbands\nFiremen’s parade at 5pm sharp traveling from north east street all the way through town to the west end to dollar general. SUMMARY:HAMILTON-GIBSON’S FREE SUMMER THEATRE ARTS CAMP – REGISTER BY JUNE 9TH
DESCRIPTION:Youth completing the fourth through ninth grades in June can register now for Hamilton-Gibson’s Summer Theatre Arts Camp being held at the Tioga County Fairgrounds in Whitneyville. “We need to know how many youth are going to participate by Friday\, June 9 so we can order enough camp T-shirts and prepare scripts and other materials to give to each camper on Monday\, June 26\, the first day of camp\,” said Thomas Putnam\, Hamilton-Gibson’s artistic director. The HG camp is free and open to those that want to participate no matter where they live and no matter whether they are homeschooled or attend public or private school. The five-day camp at Whitneyville will be from 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday\, June 26\, 27\, 28\, 29 and 30. The last day of camp on June 30 will be a regular day with the addition of two public performances at 3pm and 6:30pm in the Tioga County Youth Center building at the fairgrounds. The jam-packed week will offer campers opportunities to hone their skills in acting\, singing and dance through a variety of workshops provided by the staff and guest artists. Bus transportation is provided free. “Routes and times will be determined after we have received the registrations\,” Putnam said. Campers will be picked up and taken to Whitneyville and then returned to their pickup sites each day after camp. The only exception will be on Friday\, June 30.
