SUMMARY:2023 Regional Juried Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is thrilled to announce the return of the Regional Juried Exhibit! Artists within 150 miles of The Gmeiner were invited to submit 2-dimensional works to be considered for inclusion in the show. Come see 45 artworks from 30 talented regional artists working in a variety of mediums. \nThe exhibit will open on Saturday\, December 2nd for Dickens of a Christmas. The artists’ reception will be held on Sunday\, December 3rd from 2-4PM. The reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. The juror will speak at 3PM about the artists who were awarded prizes. \nThis exhibit will be on display until Saturday\, December 23rd.

SUMMARY:Christmas on Main Street Walking Tours
DESCRIPTION:Join our guides for a 1 hour walking tour of downtown Wellsboro. Learn more about the buildings\, businesses and people that made Wellsboro what it is today. Relive a piece of history\, as the guides share about life in the 1930’s and 40’s especially around Christmastime.\n\nThe historic walking tour of downtown Wellsboro will be offered for $5 per person over the age of 8. Groups are limited to 12 people. Spots can be reserved in advance by calling 1-856-371-5112\, or they may be purchased at the Penn Wells Hotel\, 62 Main Street Wellsboro\, during Christmas on Main Street Weekend. All tickets/spots must be paid for in cash and all proceeds go to Wellsboro Glass Historical Association\, for the preservation of the amazing story of Glass in Wellsboro. Tours will start in the lobby of the Penn Wells Hotel.\n\nNOTE​:  In the case of ice or heavy snow\, for the safety of everyone\, the tours will not take place.

SUMMARY:2023 Westfield Parade of Lights
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Westfield Parade of Lights\, sponsored and organized by Crary Hose\, will take place on Friday\, December 8th at 6:00pm. We had a great turnout last year and hope to expand on that this year! Santa will be taking time out of his busy schedule to make an appearance as well\, \nAll are encouraged to participate! Build a float for your local organization\, church\, sports team\, business\, club\, or even just for your family. Marching bands\, dancing groups\, or other acts are welcome as well. Decorate your unique vehicle and show it off to the town. Ride your horse or walk your pets. Fire and ambulance departments and apparatus are encouraged to attend. All are welcome to participate and celebrate the season! \nThis will not be a silent parade! Therefore music\, horns\, sirens etc. will be allowed. We also encourage participants to throw candy to the crowd. We ask that participants use caution\, be aware of your surroundings\, and take into account the noise and sidewalk activity when designing and planning your entry. \nRoute: Parade will begin at Electricord Manufacturing\, continue down Main Street / SR49 to Tops at the intersection of Main Street and Lincoln Street. \nTimeline: Lineup at 5:00pm in the Electricord parking lot. Parade begins at 6:00pm.

DESCRIPTION:Join us as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the premier of Elf. \nWill Ferrell stars as the ultimate fish out of water\, Buddy\, who as a baby crawls into Santa’s toy bag and is whisked off to the North Pole\, where he is raised as an elf. \nA misfit who grows to be three times the size of his elf family\, Buddy ultimately heads to his birthplace of New York City to seek out his roots. Unfortunately\, they turn out to be a “Scrooge”-like father (James Caan) and a cynical eight-year-old stepbrother who doesn’t believe in Santa. Worst of all\, everyone seems to have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. But using his simple elf ways\, Buddy sets out to single-handedly win over his family and save Christmas in New York\, hoping to at last find his true place in the world.
