SUMMARY:“A SLICE OF LIFE” EXHIBIT AT THE GMEINER
DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is pleased to announce a new Atrium Gallery exhibit “A Slice of Life” featuring watercolors by Corning artist\, Lee O’Connell. The exhibit will open on Friday\, June 14th with a reception from 6-8PM. The reception is free and open to the public\, who are invited to come meet the artist. This exhibit will remain on display until Sunday\, July 7th. Lee says of the exhibit\, “This show is inspired by my love of noticing the little things that inspire me to take note.  Whether it’s a person\, a flower\, a bird… be there a shaft of light that attracts my attention\, or colors screaming for me to paint them\, or maybe just a quiet little moment that makes me think\, any and all can inspire my art.” \nLee O’Connell is primarily a watercolor artist who dabbles in oils. She began her artistic career after retiring as Director of Admissions\, from Chemung Valley Montessori School in Big Flats.  Lee is a self-taught painter\, though truly that is a misnomer as there have been many teachers in her life.  Lee has always had a creative soul\, though\, even if she does not have formal training.

SUMMARY:Explorer 1 (Blue Run Rocks)
DESCRIPTION:Explorer Camp is a great opportunity for campers who love the outdoors and like to rough it some. Explorer camp is a little more relaxed then main camp\, but still upholds the same Christ-centered programming. This is a beautiful location not far from camp where campers will have the opportunity to try their hand at rock climbing. The round trip hike to Blue Run and back is around three miles\, so this is a perfect option for campers who want to try out backpacking. \n\n\nRequired Deposit: $25 non-refundable deposit is required to secure registration and discounts. \nTotal Payment: PYC requests that the total cost of camp be paid before arrival to help speed up the check-in process. \nFor further information or to register\, visit https://www.pennyork.com/summercampinfo/explorer-1-(blue-run-rocks)

SUMMARY:Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
DESCRIPTION:Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was first written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber at the request of a friend of Andrew’s father\, Colet Court School choirmaster Alan Doggett\, for the school’s 1968 end of term concert. \n“Sha la la\, Joseph\, you’re doing fine! You and your Dreamcoat\, ahead of your time!” One of the most enduring shows of all time\, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph\, his father Jacob\, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. Told entirely through song with the help of a main character Narrator\, the musical follows preferred son Joseph. After being sold into slavery by his brothers\, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar\, but ends up in jail after refusing the amorous advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned\, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams\, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled\, Elvis-inspired\, Pharaoh. Joseph’s solution to Egypt’s famine elevates him to Pharaoh’s right-hand man and reunites him with his family.\n\nTo purchase tickets online\, please visit https://hgp.booktix.com/dept/Perf/e/Joseph or call 570-724-2079.
