SUMMARY:IN FLANDERS FIELDS” EXHIBIT AT THE GMEINER
DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is thrilled to announce the Main Gallery exhibit for August\, “In Flanders Fields\,” a collection of impressionistic oil paintings by Christiane David. The exhibit will open on Saturday\, August 10th with a reception from 2-4PM. The reception is free and open to the public\, who are invited to come enjoy light refreshments and meet the artist. This exhibit will remain on display until Sunday\, September 1st. \nThis exhibit showcases Christiane’s strong emotional connection to poppy flowers. She says\, “While these beautiful\, strong flowers have become my signature\, my inspiration for painting them goes back to my European heritage.”

SUMMARY:Morris Old Home Days
DESCRIPTION:Join us for live entertainment\, a  large craft and flea market\, 50/50 bingo\, Stone Boat Tractor Pull-6500# class on Saturday\, and 8500# class on Sunday. There will be Fireworks Saturday night (at dark thirty).  On Sunday morning join us for a community church service.  Sunday evening is out talent show.  Registration begins at 7 PM.  Sunday and Monday\, join us for a delicious “ox roast” dinner-roast beef\, mashed potatoes\, stuffing\, gravy\, green beans\, pepper slaw\, homemade desserts.  Definitely will fill you up! \nIf you’re looking for “fair food”\, we’re also serving up; hot dogs\, Texas hots\, kraut dogs\, Sweet Italian Sausage\, Pulled Pork\, Cheeseburgers\, Fresh Cut Fries\, Funnel Cakes\, and Ice Cream! And not just ice cream\, we have sundaes\, milkshakes and root beer floats.  Breakfast served all three days until 10 AM.  Let’s not forget the bounce houses for the kids.  $5 gets them a wristband to play all day!  There’s something for everyone.

DESCRIPTION:Germania Old Home Day is scheduled for Sunday\, September 1st  in the southern Potter County village. \nEntertainment\, food and legal beverages make for a lively gathering. One of the highlights is the drawing for cash prizes totaling more than $35\,000. Raffle tickets will go on sale at 9:00 a.m.\, with the food and beverage booths opening at 11:00 a.m.. The band\, No Limits\, will perform from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.. \nA horseshoe pitching contest\, starting at 12:00 p.m.\, is open to the public. \nAnother crowd favorite will be the greased pig chases in women’s and children’s divisions\, starting at 6: p.m.. \nGermania is located along Pa. Rt. 144\, about seven miles south of Galeton.

DESCRIPTION:The Canyon Pilots Association Labor Day Weekend All-You-Can-Eat Fly-In Breakfast is Next Sunday\, Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon indoors at the corporate hangar at the Grand Canyon Regional Airport in Delmar Township at 112 Runway Road\, Wellsboro\, PA 16901. \n\nThe breakfast is open to the public and will be held rain or shine. Parking is free. Handicapped parking is also available. \nWeather permitting\, pilots in various types of full-size aircraft will fly to the airport for the breakfast.  The public is welcome to watch them land and take off and talk to pilots about their “flying machines.” \nPeople can go on rides over the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon for a fee. \nOn the menu are ham\, eggs\, buckwheat pancakes\, coffee and orange juice. Requested is a donation of $10 for adults and $5 for youngsters\, ages 8 and younger. Children 3 and under will be admitted free. \nMembers of the Canyon Country Ultralight Club will assist with the breakfast. \nThe Mountain Modelaires will display radio-controlled airplanes and helicopters in a hanger near the corporate hanger.

Stevenson Reservoir in search of wildlife. \nPontoon boat tours are scheduled to begin in June and continue until the end of September.  Tours are offered on most Sundays and other selected dates throughout the season\, with three tours offered on each date. \nThere is no fee for regular Sunday interpretive pontoon boat tours\, but DONATIONS ARE REQUESTED. \nGroup size is limited.  To reserve a seat\, please pre-register.  Pre-registration is not required but is strongly recommended. \nThe program time is 1 hour 15 minutes.  Life vests and binoculars will be provided.  After the passengers are fitted with life vests and seated on the boat\, the tour will last approximately one hour. \nIf you need an accommodation to participate in PA State Park activities due to a disability\, please contact the park you plan to visit.  With at least seven days’ notice\, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs. \nFor more information about programs at Sinnemahoning State Park\, please call the park office at 814-647-8401.
