DESCRIPTION:This unique play by Paul Handle and produced by Hamilton-Gibson Productions follows the life of a woman named Ernestine Ashworth as she ages from 17 to 101\, focusing on her yearly birthday celebrations and the reflections on life\, family\, and mortality that come with each passing year\, all while baking the same birthday cake (live on stage!) as the years pass.  \nThis funny and moving play depicts both the ordinary moments and the significant experiences that make up a person’s life\, and how we find meaning through all of it.

Ken will be joined by favorite accompanists\, The Snappin’ Bug Duo. That’s Mark Tamsula & Barbara Rosner from Pittsburgh\, multi-instrumentalists who specialize in Pennsylvania fiddle tunes collected by noted Penn State musicologist\, Samuel Bayard. \nExpect an evening of inspiration and surprise that will include twin fiddle breakdowns\, sweet original waltzes\, clawhammer banjo\, and rare Pennsylvania fiddle tunes\, all intertwined with Ken Waldman’s storytelling and poetry. Celebrate National Poetry Month as Ken Waldman & The Snappin’ Bug Duo transport attendees from our beautiful Tioga County to the real Alaska through music and words.
