DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is excited to present its December Atrium Gallery exhibit\, “Wrapped in Tradition: Wellsboro’s Shrink-Wrapped Ornaments\,” featuring a dazzling array of ornaments from the Wellsboro Glass Historical Association (WGHA) collection. The exhibit celebrates the innovative history and artistry of Wellsboro’s glass ornament production\, with a special focus on the unique shrink-wrap designs that have become cherished holiday keepsakes. \nThe opening reception will take place on Saturday\, November 22nd from 2:00 to 4:00 PM\, and is free to the public. \n“Wrapped in Tradition: Wellsboro’s Shrink-Wrapped Ornaments” will be on display until Sunday\, January 11th. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a piece of American holiday history and celebrate the artistry and creativity that continue to make Wellsboro a special part of Christmas for families nationwide. \nThe Gmeiner is open from 12-6PM Tuesdays through Sundays and is located at 134 Main Street in Wellsboro behind the Green Free Library. DESCRIPTION:An annual holiday celebration returns to historic downtown Wellsboro to once again kick off the holiday season! \nJoin the celebration on Saturday\, December 6th\, 2025\, for the 41st annual Dickens of a Christmas. Wellsboro’s Main Street and the surrounding side streets will be closed to traffic and become once again transformed into an early Victorian marketplace featuring all types of delectable wares for eating and drinking\, as well as delightful gift items for wearing or enjoying. \nBeginning at 9:00 a.m.\, the food and craft vendors\, strolling musicians and singers\, dancers\, and street corner thespians will spread up and down Main Street\, extending on to Waln and Crafton Street\, and a portion of Central Avenue. Performers and vendors will be appropriately costumed and decorated to create a Victorian atmosphere that fits so well with the Wellsboro Gas Lights. With the streets closed to traffic\, you have the freedom to stroll and enjoy the festivities. \nThroughout the weekend\, local businesses\, arts organizations\, and lodging partners put together a full menu of activity to offer visitors the perfect holiday destination to kick off their season of holiday celebration.

DESCRIPTION:Dress for the season and enjoy a Full Moon Hike or Snowshoe at Cherry Springs State Park being offered on December 6th and again on January 3rd. \nThe event commences at 7 PM – 8 PM; meet at the Astronomy Observation Field\, Kiosk by Restrooms \nTake a moonlit evening stroll along crisp\, wintery landscape. Join a park educator for a 1.5 mile walk along level ground. Snowshoes will be available as conditions and attendance allow.  Learn about winter constellations and folklore along the way with a laser-guided tour of the night sky. Telescopes available if conditions are favorable.  After the hike\, sip on warm hot chocolate or tea by a fire in the historic CCC pavilion. No dogs\, please.
