DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is excited to present its December Atrium Gallery exhibit\, “Wrapped in Tradition: Wellsboro’s Shrink-Wrapped Ornaments\,” featuring a dazzling array of ornaments from the Wellsboro Glass Historical Association (WGHA) collection. The exhibit celebrates the innovative history and artistry of Wellsboro’s glass ornament production\, with a special focus on the unique shrink-wrap designs that have become cherished holiday keepsakes. \nThe opening reception will take place on Saturday\, November 22nd from 2:00 to 4:00 PM\, and is free to the public. \n“Wrapped in Tradition: Wellsboro’s Shrink-Wrapped Ornaments” will be on display until Sunday\, January 11th. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a piece of American holiday history and celebrate the artistry and creativity that continue to make Wellsboro a special part of Christmas for families nationwide. \nThe Gmeiner is open from 12-6PM Tuesdays through Sundays and is located at 134 Main Street in Wellsboro behind the Green Free Library. DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center proudly announces its upcoming Main Gallery exhibition for December: the 2025 Regional Juried Exhibit. This highly competitive annual show celebrates the finest two-dimensional artworks from our region. The opening reception for both the Main Gallery and Atrium Gallery exhibits will take place on Saturday\, November 22nd from 2–4 PM. The public is invited to attend\, enjoy light refreshments\, and meet the artists. Admission is free\, and awards will be announced at 3 PM. Visit over 30 displays of historic ornaments made locally in the early 1940’s – and up into the 80’s in the place where the treasured Shiny Brite ornaments were created. You will learn how Wellsboro saved Christmas during World War II along with making other glass objects on the famous Ribbon Machine. \nIt’s a weekend of activities to warm your heart and fill you with Christmas spirit!\n​
