DESCRIPTION:Come out to enjoy a night of live music and raise money to support cancer patients in Potter County! \nLive music will be performed by Eppie Bailey\, Steve Quelet and Josh Wolf\, members of the former band\, “Jakob’s Hollow”\, at the Coudersport American Legion Post 192 on Saturday\, September 13\, 2025 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. \nThis evening of great music is a fundraiser for Volunteers That Care Cancer Support Group of Potter County. Money raised assists cancer patients with gas cards to help offset some of their transportation costs for cancer treatments. \nThere will be a cash bar available. Suggested donation of $10 per person. Please come out to support this very worthy cause.

Submitted pieces have been selected\, offering a diverse and engaging representation of contemporary fiber art. \nVisitors will experience a mesmerizing display of textile creations\, where they can wander among striking tapestries\, sculptural woven forms\, and intricately embroidered panels crafted by local artists. This vibrant landscape celebrates inventive weaving techniques—from traditional loom work to experimental mixed-media approaches—and offers an exuberant interplay of texture\, color\, and form. Each piece stands as living art\, a testament to the creative ingenuity and passion of the region’s fiber artists. \nWe look forward to celebrating the creativity and talent of fiber artists from across the region. SUMMARY:“Camp Plein Air: Oil Paintings by Luke Sassani” - Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center will host “Camp Plein Air: Oil Paintings by Luke Sassani” as its next Atrium Gallery exhibition in September and October. The show will feature new local works by Luke Sassani\, who received the top award at last year’s inaugural Wellsboro Wilds Plein Air Festival for his painting of downtown Wellsboro. The “Camp Plein Air” exhibition will open with a public reception on Saturday\, September 20th\, from 2–4 PM\, and will be on view through Sunday\, October 12th. \nLuke Sassani\, a 1988 graduate of Millersburg High School\, began his artistic journey following several years in construction and factory work. He pursued art education at Mansfield University\, earning a B.S.E. in Art in 1998\, and later taught elementary art in Cecil County\, Maryland\, where he developed a deeper interest in drawing and plein air painting. After relocating to western Pennsylvania in 2004\, Mr. Sassani explored chainsaw carving\, an art form that has significantly influenced his creative direction. Since 2020\, Mr. Sassani has served as an elementary art instructor at Aquinas Academy in Greensburg\, continuing to explore and advance his artistic practice. With over 30 years of experience and a family background in painting\, Mr. Sassani is recognized for his plein air landscapes and figure drawings\, with a particular focus on sunrises and sunsets and the interplay of light and shadow. Entry for each event is $40 and includes a prerelease kit with 6 packs of Spider-Man\, a foil-stamped rare or mythic\, and a spindown life counter. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, September 27th from 10 AM to 3 PM\, stop by the Daggett Day Use Area by the playground to learn about how Potter County residents went about their daily lives before the invention of modern conveniences. \nThis hands-on event is a fun family event to try your hand at a historic skill or simply watch and learn.  Dive into spinning wool and learning about heritage fiber animals from local artist Linda Voss Plummer from 10 AM to 12 PM and learn about using natural dyes to color yarn and fabric with a park educator.  Taste flavors of the past with a Dutch Oven cooking demonstration with John and Jan Halter at 11 AM and again at 1 PM.  Throughout the event\, learn about woodhicks and lumber heritage while trying a crosscut saw with Jennifer Haines with the PA Lumber Museum. \nDrop in any time between 10 AM and 3 PM to press your own apple cider\, make (and sample) homemade butter\, and try a few fun historic crafts.
