SUMMARY:Red
DESCRIPTION:Hamilton Gibson Productions presents the play “Red” (in rep with the play The Rembrandt) at the Coolidge Theatre of the Deane Center. \nRed is presented on the following dates and times:  September 25\, 26\, October 1\, 3 and 4\, 2026. \nSponsored by Well Crafted Labs\, Bill & Peggi Yacovissi\, and Kate Black *This show is not appropriate for children. \nTwo men. One studio. A clash of generations. \nA play about the real artist Mark Rothko and his fictional assistant Ken. Viewed through the lens of Ken\, we witness Rothko at the pinnacle of his creativity\, but struggling through the creation of a series of large paintings\, commissioned by New York’s new Four Seasons Restaurant. The two men–older and younger–challenge each other to ask big questions about art: what it takes to create it and what its role should be in the world. Based on a series of real events\, Red takes a compelling look at the ever-changing relationship between an artist and his creations. In rep with The Rembrandt. (Due to language and subject matter this play is not appropriate for children.)

SUMMARY:Historic Skills Day - Lyman Run State Park
DESCRIPTION:Lyman Run State Park is hosting Historic Skills Day\,  a free\, all-day event Saturday\, September 26\, 2026! From 10 AM – 2 PM try your hand at old-fashioned historic skills.  Press cider\, try out a cross-cut saw\, make butter\, watch a local artist spinning wool\, & much more. \nIn the late 1800s\, the region’s lumber industry was booming and lumber camps were filled with workers known as woodhicks. They relied on this centuries-old tool for its traditional purpose: to cut through logs. Here in Pennsylvania\, woodhicks found a new use for the crosscut saw and were the first to use it for felling trees. \nQuestions? Call the park office at 814-435-5010 ext. 2
