DESCRIPTION:What is a “Woodhick”? \nA ‘woodhick’ is a colloquial term for someone who worked in the lumber industry during the late 19th and early 20th century.  Like the term’s ‘lumberjack’\, ‘woodcutter’\, or ‘logger\,’  Woodhick describes expert laborers who used axes\, saws\, spuds\, and a variety of other hand tools in their work harvesting lumber. \nStudent groups and homeschoolers will experience learning stations across the museum providing students with the opportunity to watch demonstrations\, try hands-on activities and talk with knowledgeable staff to discover what it was like to work in Pennsylvania’s forests.
