SUMMARY:Under the Summer Sky EMMF Concert and Pop-Up Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is thrilled to announce a very special event! On Tuesday\, August 1st at 7PM the Endless Mountains Music Festival Brass Quintet will perform “under the Summer Sky” surrounded by the colorful\, expressive art of Christiane David. Christiane’s artwork is free and spontaneous\, inspired by music and nature. This pop-up exhibit will only be on display during the EMMF performance\, so make this one of the concerts you come out to see. Tickets cost $30 each and are available from www.endlessmountain.net or guests may use flex passes or season passes. Seating is limited to the first 75 attendees when the doors open at 6:30. The Gmeiner is wheelchair accessible\, air-conditioned\, and a wonderful venue to listen to music in! A free reception hosted by Pine Pitch A Cappella will be available to attendees after the performance.\nWith a personality as vibrant as her paintings\, Belgian-born artist Christiane David has taken art to a new level in Lancaster County. Walking into her studio is like walking into an enchanted world of color. Regardless of the medium or the subject matter\, every painting – large or small – is a dramatization of color\, texture\, and dimension. Her ability as a colorist has allowed her to see colors not usually perceived by the untrained eye. She feels that color has a strong effect on our minds. Whether it has an uplifting and positive influence or a serene\, relaxing effect\, color can have a powerful impact on all of us.\nWhile Christiane’s paintings reflect a free and spontaneous style\, her strong technical background and attention to composition allow her to do this in a very innovative way. Her ability to emphasize color and light in a painting may initially attract your attention\, but it is her ability to capture the soul of whatever subject she paints that will draw you into the painting – leaving you with a glimpse of the emotional intensity that goes into every one of her paintings. Christiane’s paintings will add great dimension and depth of feeling to the Endless Mountains Music Festival performance. We hope you will join us at the Gmeiner for the return of these incredibly talented musicians and the debut of one incredibly talented artist!
