SUMMARY:NESSMUK ROD AND GUN CLUB RUNNING DEER SHOOT
DESCRIPTION:This Sunday\, Nov. 19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.\, rain or shine\, the Nessmuk Rod and Gun Club is hosting its third and final running deer shoot at the club’s outdoor range at 4646 Route 287\, 6.5 miles south of Wellsboro in Delmar Township. Club members and the public are invited to participate. \nThe shooter with the highest score in the last round this Sunday will win a frozen turkey. \nIf enough young people\, 17 and under participate\, a special round for youth will be held during this running deer shoot. The youth with the highest score will win a gift certificate from Cooper’s Sporting Goods in Mansfield or from Barbers Sporting Goods Store in Sabinsville. \nThe running deer paper target is fixed to a four-foot by three-foot wooden frame that is mounted on wheels on a cable. The target is pulled along the cable from left to right at 100 yards from the shooting area. \nOnly one shooter is allowed to be on the range per pass. Safety gear and eye and ear protection are required to participate. 



A sign-up will be held before each round of shooters. \nThe fee for youth 17 and under\, and for adults\, 18 and older\, is $2 per pass with a limit of two shots per pass. The fee will be split with 50 percent going to the shooter with the highest score per round and the other 50 percent to the club. \nFor more information\, call Ray Rowland at 1-607-857-4631.

DESCRIPTION:Stage Fright is a tribute to the one and only Canadian/American roots/rock band\, “The Band.” Join us for their annual performance of The Band’s Last Waltz. \nTickets are $30 and we will have table seating which is the standard for our BYOB shows. DESCRIPTION:This workshop offers not one\, but two award-winning resources for early childhood educators! Trees and Me is part of Project Learning Tree and offers 12 activities for families and teachers to connect children ages 1–6 to nature\, with a focus on trees. Getting Little Feet Wet is part of Project WET and teaches about water in fun\, interactive ways\, including 11 activities for ages 3-6. \nEach participant will receive both books. Much of the 3 hour workshop will be used to explore activities in each. \nPlease note the location for this workshop is the Tioga State Forest District Office\, 1 Nessmuk Lane\, Wellsboro\, PA 16901. \nPre-registration is required by Wednesday Nov. 22 at Noon. DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is thrilled to announce the return of the Writer’s Open Mic Nights after a summer break! Writer’s Open Mic Nights will be held on the first Tuesday of each month from September through December. Readings start at 7PM. Come early at 6:30 to sign up for a 10-minute slot if you plan to read. You can BYOB or grab a cup of coffee and some snacks\, and socialize a little with other writers and appreciative audience members. \nThis is a free event\, organized by Ashley Ensminger and Lyndsay Costley\, who usually share a little of what they have been working on as well. This group met for years at Conspiracy Coffee Company in Mansfield\, but moved to the Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center this year when the members realized that the majority of them live in Wellsboro. \nYou do not have to be a writer yourself to attend. It’s fine to just come to listen and enjoy! Those in the audience are asked not to record without permission.

The ceremony will be held on Pearl Harbor Day\, Thursday\, December 7th\, at 1PM and will be led by Tim Cleveland of the Tioga County Veterans Affairs office.\nOver the past year\, the World War II Memorial has undergone an extensive renovation in order to make the site more visible and accessible to the community. Come see the changes that have been made\, and take a moment to remember the sacrifices of the heroes listed on it.

DESCRIPTION:Join our guides for a 1 hour walking tour of downtown Wellsboro. Learn more about the buildings\, businesses and people that made Wellsboro what it is today. Relive a piece of history\, as the guides share about life in the 1930’s and 40’s especially around Christmastime.\n\nThe historic walking tour of downtown Wellsboro will be offered for $5 per person over the age of 8. Groups are limited to 12 people. Spots can be reserved in advance by calling 1-856-371-5112\, or they may be purchased at the Penn Wells Hotel\, 62 Main Street Wellsboro\, during Christmas on Main Street Weekend. All tickets/spots must be paid for in cash and all proceeds go to Wellsboro Glass Historical Association\, for the preservation of the amazing story of Glass in Wellsboro. Tours will start in the lobby of the Penn Wells Hotel.\n\nNOTE​:  In the case of ice or heavy snow\, for the safety of everyone\, the tours will not take place.

DESCRIPTION:Our annual Westfield Parade of Lights\, sponsored and organized by Crary Hose\, will take place on Friday\, December 8th at 6:00pm. We had a great turnout last year and hope to expand on that this year! Santa will be taking time out of his busy schedule to make an appearance as well\, \nAll are encouraged to participate! Build a float for your local organization\, church\, sports team\, business\, club\, or even just for your family. Marching bands\, dancing groups\, or other acts are welcome as well. Decorate your unique vehicle and show it off to the town. Ride your horse or walk your pets. Fire and ambulance departments and apparatus are encouraged to attend. All are welcome to participate and celebrate the season! \nThis will not be a silent parade! Therefore music\, horns\, sirens etc. will be allowed. We also encourage participants to throw candy to the crowd. We ask that participants use caution\, be aware of your surroundings\, and take into account the noise and sidewalk activity when designing and planning your entry. \nRoute: Parade will begin at Electricord Manufacturing\, continue down Main Street / SR49 to Tops at the intersection of Main Street and Lincoln Street. \nTimeline: Lineup at 5:00pm in the Electricord parking lot. Parade begins at 6:00pm.

Unfortunately\, they turn out to be a “Scrooge”-like father (James Caan) and a cynical eight-year-old stepbrother who doesn’t believe in Santa. Worst of all\, everyone seems to have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. But using his simple elf ways\, Buddy sets out to single-handedly win over his family and save Christmas in New York\, hoping to at last find his true place in the world.
