DESCRIPTION:Photograph the starry night sky with your DSLR camera & lenses you currently own. Curt Weinhold\, a PA Wilds Juried Artisan\, teaches you to photograph constellations & the Milky Way. Class is NOT for visitors wanting to take photos through a telescope. \nRegistration Required. Registration opens 45 days before class. Registration closes at 3 PM\, 2 days prior to class. Class size is limited to 10 seats\, with a waitlist availabile if class has filled. \nForeground material\, such as trees or buildings may also add to the composition. Samples of Curt’s work online: http://pbase.com/cwphoto \n— \nEssential Gear: \n\nDSLR Camera\nfully charged battery\nsturdy tripod\nwide angle lens preferred (Rokinon 14mm is popular & has reasonable cost)\nStrongly recommend a spare battery and a memory card.\nOptional: laptop with image editing software.\n\nParticipants should be familiar with changing camera settings and have either a dim red flashlight or a red screen app on their phone. When time allows\, before dark\, the workshop will include a short review of images in Photoshop. \n— \nFees/Payment: Payment of $60.00 will be due upon arrival at the program by check or cash only. \nWeather: The program will be cancelled in the event of rain or overcast skies. Dress so you are comfortable for the anticipated night temperatures.

DESCRIPTION:On the last day of the “Surreal Spaces” exhibit\, June 2nd at 4PM\, Anna Lee Hafer and her mother\, the poet Marjorie Maddox\, will give a presentation on Marjorie’s collection of ekphratic poetry “In the Museum of My Daughter’s Mind.”\nThis collaborative book is based on the experiences of the mother-daughter duo on a rainy-day excursion to the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore\, Maryland\, where\, as never before\, they realized how their passions for art and poetry intersect. Anna Lee’s artwork is featured in the book\, which will be available for purchase at the Gmeiner throughout the exhibit.
