DESCRIPTION:Participants must be 8 to 14 years of age; they will visit a series of hands-on outdoor education stations. these include Fishing\, Trapping\, Turkey Calling\, Orienteering\, Shooting Sports\, Forestry\, Reptiles and Amphibians\, Wildlife Identification\, ATV Safety\, etc. \nFree:  Lunch\, Hat\, Shirt and door prizes. \nWin:  Wild boar hunts! One for a boy and one for a girl participant. (donated by Tioga Ranch). \nThis program is presented by The Pennsylvania Game Commission\, US Army Corps of Engineers\, PA Fish and Boat Commission\, DCNR and many other local agencies\, Sportsman’s clubs and individuals. \nNote:  When registering please provide participants name\, parent or guardian name\, Age of participant (must be 8 to 14 years of age)\, shirt size\, mailing address\, phone number\, and email address.\nAll participants must be accompanied by an adult. \nIF you are placed on the wait list please plan to attend. The Gmeiner will be provide basic materials\, but if students have their own preferred watercolors\, paper\, and brushes\, please bring them. Stevenson Reservoir in search of wildlife. \nPontoon boat tours are scheduled to begin in June and continue until the end of September.  Tours are offered on most Sundays and other selected dates throughout the season\, with three tours offered on each date. \nThere is no fee for regular Sunday interpretive pontoon boat tours\, but DONATIONS ARE REQUESTED. \nGroup size is limited.  To reserve a seat\, please pre-register.  Pre-registration is not required but is strongly recommended. \nThe program time is 1 hour 15 minutes.  Life vests and binoculars will be provided.  After the passengers are fitted with life vests and seated on the boat\, the tour will last approximately one hour. \nIf you need an accommodation to participate in PA State Park activities due to a disability\, please contact the park you plan to visit.  With at least seven days’ notice\, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs. \nFor more information about programs at Sinnemahoning State Park\, please call the park office at 814-647-8401.

Judith will lead students in writing poetry that responds to the art on exhibit at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center. This month’s Main Gallery exhibit is inspired by the poem “In Flanders Fields.” The artist\, Christiane David\, has captured the fleeting beauty of poppies with her impressionistic oil paintings that pay homage to the sacrifices of soldiers past and present.\nNo previous writing experience is necessary to participate. Come ready to engage\, experiment\, write\, and connect with the art and your emotions. Leave with new drafts and strategies for future poems.\nThe writing workshop will be held on Saturday\, August 24th at 11AM. Participants will be able to view the exhibits when no one else is in the building to let their creativity flow. Class is open to adults only\, and is limited to 15 participants. The cost is $25. Stevenson Reservoir in search of wildlife. \nPontoon boat tours are scheduled to begin in June and continue until the end of September.  Tours are offered on most Sundays and other selected dates throughout the season\, with three tours offered on each date. \nThere is no fee for regular Sunday interpretive pontoon boat tours\, but DONATIONS ARE REQUESTED. \nGroup size is limited.  To reserve a seat\, please pre-register.  Pre-registration is not required but is strongly recommended. \nThe program time is 1 hour 15 minutes.  Life vests and binoculars will be provided.  After the passengers are fitted with life vests and seated on the boat\, the tour will last approximately one hour. \nIf you need an accommodation to participate in PA State Park activities due to a disability\, please contact the park you plan to visit.  With at least seven days’ notice\, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs. \nFor more information about programs at Sinnemahoning State Park\, please call the park office at 814-647-8401.
