SUMMARY:Pontoon Boat Rides at Sinnemahoning State Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Park staff for a relaxing and informative tour around the lake\, as you cruise the shoreline of the George B. Stevenson Reservoir in search of wildlife. \nPontoon boat tours are scheduled to begin in June and continue until the end of September.  Tours are offered on most Sundays and other selected dates throughout the season\, with three tours offered on each date. \nThere is no fee for regular Sunday interpretive pontoon boat tours\, but DONATIONS ARE REQUESTED. \nGroup size is limited.  To reserve a seat\, please pre-register.  Pre-registration is not required but is strongly recommended. \nThe program time is 1 hour 15 minutes.  Life vests and binoculars will be provided.  After the passengers are fitted with life vests and seated on the boat\, the tour will last approximately one hour. \nIf you need an accommodation to participate in PA State Park activities due to a disability\, please contact the park you plan to visit.  With at least seven days’ notice\, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs. \nFor more information about programs at Sinnemahoning State Park\, please call the park office at 814-647-8401.

Focusing on America250PA’s theme of “Educate\, Preserve\, Innovate\, and Celebrate” (EPIC)\, DCNR is helping to engage citizens in all 67 counties to commemorate this momentous occasion. The distance walked during this event and any other hosted by DCNR can be used for America250PA’s Road to 2026 Celebrate Pennsylvania challenge. \nAll ages. Walk will be about a mile over slightly hilly grassy and graveled ground. No registration needed.  \nPark visitors to the programs please leave their pets at home\, as dogs are not permitted at Cherry Springs State Park. \n🗺️Where: Use entrance here\, park in the lot. DESCRIPTION:One of Europe’s most dynamic performing groups takes to the stage of the Coolidge Theatre for this Wellsboro Community Concert Association presentation on Saturday\, August 23rd when Ukraine’s Kommuna Lux performs “Odesa Gangsta Folk:” thrilling Klezmer music and rowdy speakeasy tunes from their hometown. \nJust as the streets of Odesa are rich with nostalgia and a bohemian Black Sea coastal vibe\, Kommuna Lux’s melodies are filled with dazzling rhythms\, refreshing anarchy\, and plenty of joie de vivre! \nThe group was founded around 2014. Surprised Odessites discovered flash mobs of the “gangsters” making music all around town: the Privoz market\, the old wooden tram line\, the Primorsky Boulevard promenade\, and rusty rocking boats at Lustdorf Beach. This pioneering time was followed by major concerts on renowned stages of the city\, the country\, and then worldwide. \nThis concert is outside of the WCCA 6-Concert Season and is not part of the six-concert WCCA Season

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an evening of Celtic and Bluegrass Music when acclaimed musician Kevin McKrell takes the stage on Saturday\, September 6\, 2025\, at this Wellsboro Community Concert Association performance taking place at the Coolidge Theatre in Wellsboro. \nKevin McKrell has toured throughout the U.S. and Ireland both as a solo singer-songwriter and with his band The McKrells. His songs have been recorded and performed by The Kingston Trio\, The Furey Brothers\, Bob Shane and many others. He is best known\, though\, for his indelible songs—classics like ‘Donegal’\, ‘Dublin Town’ ‘I Miss the Rain’ and the eternal ‘All of The Hard Days Are Gone’. Kevin and his bands have performed for audiences at the top Celtic\, Folk and Bluegrass festivals as well as Carnegie Hall\, Lincoln Center\, Troy Music Hall\, Caffé Lena\, Berklee Performance Hall\, Proctors Theater\, The Sellersville Theater\, Saratoga Performing Arts Center. The Egg\, North Texas Irish Festival\, The Landmark Theater Syracuse\, Milwaukee Irish Festival\, Celtic Classic\, The Great American Irish Festival\, MusikFest\, Falcon Ridge Folk Festival\, Winterhawk Bluegrass festival are some of the top venues where Kevin and his bands have appeared. \nTo reserve a large table which seats 8 persons at least 5 tickets must be purchased plus a table reservation fee of $10.\nTo reserve a small table which seats 4 persons at least 4 tickets must be purchased along with a table reservation fee of $5. \nThis concert is outside of the WCCA 6-Concert Season and is not part of the six-concert WCCA Season.

Money raised assists cancer patients with gas cards to help offset some of their transportation costs for cancer treatments. \nThere will be a cash bar available. SUMMARY:“Camp Plein Air: Oil Paintings by Luke Sassani” - Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center will host “Camp Plein Air: Oil Paintings by Luke Sassani” as its next Atrium Gallery exhibition in September and October. The show will feature new local works by Luke Sassani\, who received the top award at last year’s inaugural Wellsboro Wilds Plein Air Festival for his painting of downtown Wellsboro. The “Camp Plein Air” exhibition will open with a public reception on Saturday\, September 20th\, from 2–4 PM\, and will be on view through Sunday\, October 12th. \nLuke Sassani\, a 1988 graduate of Millersburg High School\, began his artistic journey following several years in construction and factory work. He pursued art education at Mansfield University\, earning a B.S.E. in Art in 1998\, and later taught elementary art in Cecil County\, Maryland\, where he developed a deeper interest in drawing and plein air painting. After relocating to western Pennsylvania in 2004\, Mr. Sassani explored chainsaw carving\, an art form that has significantly influenced his creative direction. Since 2020\, Mr. Sassani has served as an elementary art instructor at Aquinas Academy in Greensburg\, continuing to explore and advance his artistic practice. With over 30 years of experience and a family background in painting\, Mr. Sassani is recognized for his plein air landscapes and figure drawings\, with a particular focus on sunrises and sunsets and the interplay of light and shadow.
