DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is thrilled to announce the return of the Regional Juried Exhibit! Artists within 150 miles of The Gmeiner were invited to submit 2-dimensional works to be considered for inclusion in the show. Come see 45 artworks from 30 talented regional artists working in a variety of mediums. \nThe exhibit will open on Saturday\, December 2nd for Dickens of a Christmas. The artists’ reception will be held on Sunday\, December 3rd from 2-4PM. The reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. The juror will speak at 3PM about the artists who were awarded prizes. \nThis exhibit will be on display until Saturday\, December 23rd.

DESCRIPTION:This workshop offers not one\, but two award-winning resources for early childhood educators! Trees and Me is part of Project Learning Tree and offers 12 activities for families and teachers to connect children ages 1–6 to nature\, with a focus on trees. Getting Little Feet Wet is part of Project WET and teaches about water in fun\, interactive ways\, including 11 activities for ages 3-6. \nEach participant will receive both books. Much of the 3 hour workshop will be used to explore activities in each. \nPlease note the location for this workshop is the Tioga State Forest District Office\, 1 Nessmuk Lane\, Wellsboro\, PA 16901. \nPre-registration is required by Wednesday Nov. 22 at Noon. DESCRIPTION:Stage Fright is a tribute to the one and only Canadian/American roots/rock band\, “The Band.” Join us for their annual performance of The Band’s Last Waltz. \nTickets are $30 and we will have table seating which is the standard for our BYOB shows. There are General Admissions risers located in the back of the theatre as well as the opportunity to rent a table located in the middle and front of the theatre. A small table is an additional $5 and seats 2-4 people. A large table is an additional $10 and seats 6-8 people. The only way to rent a table is to call our office at 570-724-6220. SUMMARY:NESSMUK ROD AND GUN CLUB RUNNING DEER SHOOT
DESCRIPTION:This Sunday\, Nov. 19 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.\, rain or shine\, the Nessmuk Rod and Gun Club is hosting its third and final running deer shoot at the club’s outdoor range at 4646 Route 287\, 6.5 miles south of Wellsboro in Delmar Township. Club members and the public are invited to participate. \nThe shooter with the highest score in the last round this Sunday will win a frozen turkey. \nIf enough young people\, 17 and under participate\, a special round for youth will be held during this running deer shoot. The youth with the highest score will win a gift certificate from Cooper’s Sporting Goods in Mansfield or from Barbers Sporting Goods Store in Sabinsville. \nThe running deer paper target is fixed to a four-foot by three-foot wooden frame that is mounted on wheels on a cable. The target is pulled along the cable from left to right at 100 yards from the shooting area. \nOnly one shooter is allowed to be on the range per pass. Safety gear and eye and ear protection are required to participate. 



A sign-up will be held before each round of shooters. \nThe fee for youth 17 and under\, and for adults\, 18 and older\, is $2 per pass with a limit of two shots per pass. The fee will be split with 50 percent going to the shooter with the highest score per round and the other 50 percent to the club. \nFor more information\, call Ray Rowland at 1-607-857-4631.

DESCRIPTION:During the Golden Afternoons program at 1 p.m. on Tuesday\, Nov. 14\, Suzan Richar of Wellsboro will show people attending how to do two different Christmas craft projects to take home. All materials will be provided free.\n\n\nThis free program is open to anyone 55 years of age or older. It will be in the lobby at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. There will be free refreshments.\n\n\nAttendees are asked to bring shears to cut material and glue guns with them from home. “We will have some available but if the number of participants is as impressive as it has been in the past\, we will need more tools\,” Richar said.\n\n\nFor the first project\, Richar\, assisted by her best friend Linda Galeone\, will show participants how to make denim angels for a “Blue Christmas.”\n\n\n“If we have enough time\, we will also show them how to make a small Christmas tree ornament. Participants will have more choices in individualizing their trees\,” said Richar.\n\n\nSuzan and Linda have helped Golden Afternoons attendees make folded butterflies from paper\, Iris folding note cards\, popsicle stick mangers\, Christmas ornaments from wrapping paper and glittery putz houses from cardboard.\n\n\nFor more information about this Golden Afternoons program call the Deane Center at 570-724-6220.

DESCRIPTION:The “Island Park 150” will be held Saturday\, November 11th at 9:00am. The Island Park 150 is a challenge event where you decide the challenge. Participants will be given 150 minutes to complete as many loops as possible\, or desired\, on the Island Park 1.53 mile course. All participants will be guaranteed a custom event medal\, food\, drinks\, and fantastic giveaways. \nThe event will be chip timed by Falcon Race Timing with results being available online immediately following the event. Awards will be given to the top 3 male\, female\, male youth (12 and under) and female youth (12 and under) competitors. \nCan’t make it to Blossburg on November 11th but still want to participate\, register for our “Virtual Island Park 150” and you can receive the same race day medal and swag as those who participate in the live event. Requirements? Just register for the event and select the Virtual option\, then between November 1st and November 11th\, run\, walk\, bike\, swim\, yoga\, or do some form of exercise and let us know and we’ll get your medal and gifts mailed to you\, it’s that simple.
