Adapted for a company of six actors\, accompanied by a fiddler\, the play requires a minimum of sets\, costumes and props. It begins with a child reading the story for the first time. As the scenes are played out behind him\, the child becomes totally caught up in the story and is finally invited by the other characters to enter the play as one of them. Wellsboro’s Main Street and the surrounding side streets will be closed to traffic and will become an early Victorian marketplace featuring all types of delectable wares for eating and drinking\, as well as delightful gift items for wearing or enjoying. \nThe Wellsboro Men’s and Women’s Choruses traditionally perform in front of the Arcadia Theater\, and you’re welcome to sing along. Several other local musical groups typically offer strolling performances throughout the day. Just stop where you happen to be and enjoy tidbits of drama or musical performances. \nMany of our local churches will host luncheons\, concerts\, tours or special services throughout the day. Hamilton Gibson Productions usually present “A Christmas Carol” at the Coolidge Theater & Warehouse Theater several times\, and the Hamilton Gibson Choirs will perform on Friday evening. DESCRIPTION:Poets\, Michael Czarnecki and Judith Sornberger\, join us for an afternoon of their poetry\, here at our theatre\, on Saturday\, November 30th\, at 2:00. Poetry\, music and refreshments make up this community event.\nTheir books along with book signing will be available. Tickets are $10 or purchase a book in lieu of entry fee! This should be a lovely afternoon to gather round\, meditate and let our imaginations soar as we take in the readings of these two\, very talented individuals. Michael is a writer\, as well as a skilled photographer who has traveled around the world sharing his writing and story telling\, authoring several collections\, including There is Only This Moment and Becoming Who I Needed to Be\, among several other works. Judith\, professor emerita of Mansfield University has also authored several books of poetry including\, Walmart Orchid\, two of four published works. We are excited to invite Michael and Judith to sojourn with us as we share in this experience together.
