SUMMARY:2nd Annual Historic Skills Day at Lyman Run State Park
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, September 27th from 10 AM to 3 PM\, stop by the Daggett Day Use Area by the playground to learn about how Potter County residents went about their daily lives before the invention of modern conveniences. \nThis hands-on event is a fun family event to try your hand at a historic skill or simply watch and learn.  Dive into spinning wool and learning about heritage fiber animals from local artist Linda Voss Plummer from 10 AM to 12 PM and learn about using natural dyes to color yarn and fabric with a park educator.  Taste flavors of the past with a Dutch Oven cooking demonstration with John and Jan Halter at 11 AM and again at 1 PM.  Throughout the event\, learn about woodhicks and lumber heritage while trying a crosscut saw with Jennifer Haines with the PA Lumber Museum. \nDrop in any time between 10 AM and 3 PM to press your own apple cider\, make (and sample) homemade butter\, and try a few fun historic crafts. DESCRIPTION:Wellsboro Community Concert Association presents North Carolina based quintet Unspoken Tradition as the first offering of their 2025-2026 Concert Season on Saturday\, September 27th at 7:30 PM at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts. \nA fast-rising voice of a new generation of roots music artists. Performing mostly new original Bluegrass nationwide at sold out shows they bring a sound that’s impassioned\, nostalgic\, hard-driving and sincere reflecting the culture of their state. They’ve performed at MerleFest twice and have heavy air play on streaming platforms. Their 2022 album\, “Imaginary Lines\,” featured seven top-20 singles\, and their 2019 album\, “Myths We Tell Our Young” debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Bluegrass charts.  Several of their singles have charted in the Bluegrass Today top 20 and include hits like “California” (#1)\, “Irons in the Fire” (#2)\, and “Carolina and Tennessee” (#4). The band has covered\, with bagpipes\, AC/DC’s “It’s a Long Way to the Top”. They’ve been featured on major TV networks\, video games\, Videos on Much Music/MTV\, and many pro sporting events. Mudmen have been guest of and or opened for the likes of ZZ Top\, The Guess Who\, Loverboy\, April Wine\, Helix\, Johnny Reid\, Nazareth\, Glass Tiger\, 54-40\, The Irish Rovers\, The Chieftains\, John McDermott\, Natalie MacMaster. \nCareer highlights also include meeting and performing for the Queen.
