SUMMARY:Seasons of the Soul Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center is pleased to announce the November Main Gallery exhibit “Seasons of the Soul” photography by Shannon Davis. It will open with a reception from 2-4PM on Saturday\, November 4th. The reception is free and open to the public\, and light refreshments will be served. This is Shannon’s first solo exhibit. It includes color\, black and white\, and kaleidoscopic photos. It will be on display until Sunday\, November 26th.\nShannon graduated from Wellsboro High School in 1999 and has been taking photographs since her early teens. She loved photography class and developing her own photos in high school. Shannon has always taken tons of photos\, even back in the old film days. She has spent the last twenty years working in Ansonia for the Mountain Trail Horse Center\, the Burning Barrel Bar\, Pine Creek Outfitters\, and currently Ole’ Covered Wagon Tours as a driver. Her work in the beautiful Pine Creek Valley has given her access to many unique perspectives and situations.\nShannon’s “Seasons of the Soul” display is a collection of images from the last decade – usually just a moment in time in the superfast pace of life. Shannon finds that the little things can hold the most beauty. Most of her photographs are taken using that camera we all have these days – a cell phone. Shannon states that it seems sometimes the season of change is the only constant. SUMMARY:Suzan Richar to Create Christmas Ornaments during Free Golden Afternoons Program
DESCRIPTION:During the Golden Afternoons program at 1 p.m. on Tuesday\, Nov. 14\, Suzan Richar of Wellsboro will show people attending how to do two different Christmas craft projects to take home. All materials will be provided free.\n\n\nThis free program is open to anyone 55 years of age or older. It will be in the lobby at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. There will be free refreshments.\n\n\nAttendees are asked to bring shears to cut material and glue guns with them from home. “We will have some available but if the number of participants is as impressive as it has been in the past\, we will need more tools\,” Richar said.\n\n\nFor the first project\, Richar\, assisted by her best friend Linda Galeone\, will show participants how to make denim angels for a “Blue Christmas.”\n\n\n“If we have enough time\, we will also show them how to make a small Christmas tree ornament. Participants will have more choices in individualizing their trees\,” said Richar.\n\n\nSuzan and Linda have helped Golden Afternoons attendees make folded butterflies from paper\, Iris folding note cards\, popsicle stick mangers\, Christmas ornaments from wrapping paper and glittery putz houses from cardboard.\n\n\nFor more information about this Golden Afternoons program call the Deane Center at 570-724-6220.

DESCRIPTION:This is where cooking is FUN!  We provide everything for you!  From your apron to your pots and pans\, all ingredients\, and even take-out containers. \nThis class is an extension of our Kids Cooking Camp from this summer. Your child can still take this class if they didn’t attend camp. Class will be approximately two hours long and this is for kids only\, ages 10-17.\n \nThis class is part of a three-part series. Dates for each class are 11/4\, 11/11 and 11/18. Return to Ixalan and venture into the deep jungles to discover long-lost ruins\, ancient civilizations\, and ferocious creatures. Entry for this event is $25 and includes a Prerelease kit containing 6 Draft Boosters\, a Foil-Stamped rare or mythic from the set\, and a spin-down life counter. In addition\, each entry adds 2 Set Boosters to the prize pool with every player receiving at least one pack for prizes.
