SUMMARY:HG Improv Club
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, April 26 from 6-7PM\, Hamilton-Gibson Productions will hold its first Improv Club meeting. The Club will be a place where anyone 13 and older can enjoy the fun of improv games and activities. \nImprov is short for improvisation and in theatre refers to unscripted scenes\, usually comedic in nature. Popular improv shows on screen include “Whose Line Is It Anyway” and “Game Changer\,” and live improv shows are becoming more and more common. Improv Club is not a show\, though watching other people take their turns is a big part of the fun. The club is for people who want to get more comfortable onstage in a low-stakes situation\, meet new friends\, and just be silly for an hour. \nImprov Club will be in the Warehouse Theatre Gallery at 3 Central Ave.\, Wellsboro. There is a $5 member fee at the door (kids get in free with a participating parent)\, and the fee will go toward future club activities. Club members will be asked what types of activities they are interested in and about scheduling. Pre-registration is appreciated. To register or ask a question\, email info@hamiltongibson.org or call (570) 724-2079.

SUMMARY:Messiah: A Community Sing
DESCRIPTION:MESSIAH: A Community Sing Once again\, HG provides a glorious afternoon of music as soloists and audience members join to sing the Christmas portion of G.F. Handel’s triumphant Oratorio. Dr. Peggy Dettwiler conducts the event this year with soloists from the Mansfield University music department. Three of this year’s soloists are recent graduates\, and one is currently a junior. The string quartet is from State College\, and local musician Marian Miller is returning to the keyboard. Audience members are invited to sing the choruses. Scores are available upon entrance\, or you may bring your own. Of course\, you may also sit back and listen to your friends and neighbors present this incredible work. The event began and continues as a fundraiser for the HG Children’s Choral Program. Fittingly\, when the MESSIAH was first presented in London 1743 it too was as a fundraiser for the newly opened Foundling Hospital\, a home for unwanted children.) The HG Treble Choir will present two selections before we commence MESSIAH. Please consider contributing to these young musicians. The event is once again offered due to the generous sponsorship by Marsha and Bob Chesko. \nTo purchase tickets online\, visit https://hgp.booktix.com/dept/Perf/e/Mess24/p/54

SUMMARY:Night of the Living Dead Live
DESCRIPTION:Night of the Living Dead™ Live is a fun and hilarious re-imagining of George A. Romero’s legendary classic. Set in 1968 and presented in all black and white\, it literally feels like the film has been brought to life and placed onstage. The play lovingly examines the movie itself\, the period in which it was made\, and the film’s undying influence on the horror genre.\nNight of the Living Dead™\, the film\, was produced at a time of incredible social and political upheaval. The film was met with controversy for featuring an African American protagonist and realistic horror images; and yet\, possibly the most controversial element to Night of The Living Dead™ was the ending… Everybody dies! Even the hero doesn’t survive.\nMore than just a recreation of the story\, the play celebrates the history and influence of the movie. Through a series of multiple endings\, the characters are all faced with different issues and challenges while desperately trying to survive the night. However\, their contrasting personalities and agendas always seem to prevent the group from working together. Which leaves us all wondering: Could anyone survive a night of the living dead?\n\nVisit\, https://hgp.booktix.com/ to purchase tickets
