DESCRIPTION:Create a Flatware Basket at this class run by artisan Cathy Snyder on Saturday\, May 31st at 9:00 am at the Potter County Artisan Center in Coudersport. \n Cathy Snyder has done many things\, but her current love is basket-making. A retired math and psychology lecturer\, she enjoys employing insights from her college geometry class for designers when creating new basket designs. Most of her baskets are one-of-a-kind creations\, while a few are tried and proven classics. Any of her baskets stands alone as a piece of functional art\, but many can be combined into “families” to enhance flow about a home of office. \nCatherine looks forward to conversing with basket and craft enthusiasts\, as well as teaching classes in basket weaving and unit origami. One is never too old to find joy in creating functional art. \nCost for the class is $40\, with supplies included. Participants are invited to bring a snack or lunch.

SUMMARY:Beginner/Intermediate photography class with Curt Weinhold
DESCRIPTION:Curt Weinhold will be teaching a beginner/intermediate photography class at the Potter County Artisan Center on Wednesday\, Oct 9th from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm. Curt is a PA Wilds Juried Artisan\, former wedding photographer and teaches starry sky photography at Cherry Springs State Park. Curt will teach students how to set up their cameras for varying subjects and acquaint them with shutter speed\, f-stop and ISO.  Also covered in this class; the importance of proper lighting\, photo composition\, landscape photography and portraits.  This class is geared towards cameras with interchangeable lenses (DSLR). Please bring cameras to class. \n  \nTo register for these classes\, please call the center at 814-274-8165.  The co-op is located at 227 N. Main Street and is open from 12 pm to 4:00 pm Monday through Saturday.
