SUMMARY:Silent Sky
DESCRIPTION:A decade before women gained the right to vote\, Henrietta Leavitt and her fellow women “computers” transformed the science of astronomy. In the Harvard Observatory\, Leavitt found 2\,400 new variable stars and made important discoveries about their fluctuating brightness\, enabling fellow scientists to map the Milky Way and beyond. SUMMARY:Sofia Talvik
DESCRIPTION:Unmistakably Nordic in flavor\, Sofia Talvik somehow still conforms to American interpretations of her own original music\, a North Sea siren blending sparkle and melancholy. A veteran performer with 9 full length albums as well as numerous EPs\, singles and tours behind her. \nGrowing up in Sweden her music has always had a special tint of her Scandinavian heritage\, making her a favorite among music lovers. \nPrimarily a live artist\, Talvik has taken her music across Europe and through 48 U.S. states\, riding in her 1989 Winnebago Warrior with her husband at the wheel\, digging deep into the American sound and channeling it through her Nordic roots to create a singular brand of Americana. Talvik releases all of her music on Makaki Music\, a record label she started early in her career to maintain full control over her own recordings. While her Swedish roots serve as the basis for her songwriting\, she often calls upon her many journeys and experiences for inspiration\, especially the uniquely American archetype of roaming the endless highway. \nLiving like a musical nomad\, moving from place to place\, slowly but steadily building her audience through her heartfelt and personal performances she got to experience the USA in a way few people do. The people she met opened their homes and hearts to her and some of them even made it into her songs. \nTalvik has released 9 full length albums and countless singles and eps. She has performed at festivals ranging from Lollapalooza to SXSW. She has opened for Maria McKee and David Duchovny\, and has collaborated with former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler\, as well as Tobias Fröberg (Peter Bjorn and John)\, who produced her 2008 LP Jonestown. She has also released 2 albums in Swedish as part of the New Acoustic duo Hansan with German cellist David Floer. \nTickets are $25\, and we will have table seating\, which is the standard for our BYOB shows. There are General Admissions risers in the back of the theatre and the opportunity to rent a table in the middle and front of the theatre. A small table is an additional $5 and seats 2-4 people. A large table is an additional $10 and seats 6-8 people. The only way to rent a table is to call our office at 570-724-6220. \nFor tickets\, visit https://deanecenter.ticketleap.com/sofia-talvik/

SUMMARY:Best Friends Girl
DESCRIPTION:The #1 Cars experience in the northeast! Best Friends Girl recreates the timeless hits of The Cars spanning a 35-year career\, with over 23 million albums sold and more than 22 songs on the Billboard Top 100. The Cars undoubtedly left their mark in popular culture with notable hits like “Best Friends Girl\,” “Shake It Up\,” “Magic\,” “Let’s Go\,” and\, of course\, “Moving in Stereo\,” which gained notoriety from its placement in the movie “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” Best Friends Girl is comprised of lifelong\, top-notch\, professional musicians whose goal is to keep the music of The Cars alive with every performance! \nThe Cars’ journey began with Ric Ocasek and Benjamin Orr collaborating on several projects in the early 70’s. Ric and Benjamin eventually completed the lineup with Greg Hawkes\, Elliot Easton\, and David Robinson in Boston 1976.  In the confusion left behind by the death of disco and punk angst\, they forged a new direction\, combining the synthesizer sound with classic rock and roll roots. It created a unique sound for the time\, and icon John Lennon became a fan\, stating\, “I think The Cars’ ‘Touch and Go’ is right out of the fifties’ Oh\, oh… ‘A lot of it is fifties stuff. But with the eighties styling.” \nTickets are $30\, and we will have table seating\, which is the standard for our BYOB shows. \nhttps://deanecenter.ticketleap.com/best-friends-girl/

SUMMARY:Appetite for Voltage: A Tribute to Guns N' Roses & AC/DC
DESCRIPTION:Paying tribute exclusively to the music of GUNS N’ ROSES and AC/DC\, Appetite for Voltage exists to bring those classic rock and roll songs to life at every show. The band has dedicated themselves to authentically recreating “note for note” renditions of songs that span the catalogue of hits as well as deep cuts\, including the classic albums “Appetite for Destruction” and “Back in Black” in their entirety. \nFormed in 2017\, Appetite for Voltage has already toured sold-out clubs\, festivals\, and casinos including high-profile events such as “Rochester Party in the Park”\, “Bands on the Bricks”\, “Fairport Music Festival” and more. Each member of A4V brings several years of national touring experience to the band including performing on the “Monsters of Rock” cruise and providing direct support for heavyweights like ZZ Top\, Motley Crue\, The Ramones\, George Thorogood\, and countless others. \nIn their never-ending effort to emulate the music\, lead singer Seth Martino commands the stage with his unparalled showmanship. Complete with wardrobe changes\, his well-known Axl/Bon/Brian sounding wail and epic piano work on iconic songs like “November Rain” and “Live and Let Die\,” you’ll leave feeling like you were just at a G N’ R or AC/DC show.  The band is equipped with two heavy hitter guitar players. Lead guitarist\, Dylan DeSmit tackles the raw sounds of Angus Young and groove-conscious rhythms of Izzy Stradlin with ease. Hand him a guitar and those frets light up. Having toured alongside Billy Sheehan as Talas’s guitar player\, the newest addition of the band\, Kire Najdovski sets fire to the stage with his incomparable sound. He emulates the parts of Slash and Malcom young flawlessly. Brian Eberts brings years of experience and versatility to the rhythm section. His passion for the craft is evident on stage as his bass rumbles with excitement. Energy erupts from the stage when Todd Lange hits the drums. His playing is infectious and undeniably powerful. Together\, Appetite for Voltage is a force to be reckoned with. \nTickets are $30\, and we will have table seating\, which is the standard for our BYOB shows. There are General Admissions risers in the back of the theatre and the opportunity to rent a table in the middle and front of the theatre. A small table is an additional $5 and seats 2-4 people.
