DESCRIPTION:Eddie 9V (9-volt) has made a name for himself in the blues scene in the south\, wowing all types of audiences with his searing Freddie King-style approach to guitar and his original retro/soul songs. An “old soul” still in his twenties\, Eddie makes his home in the swamps of Georgia and has played clubs and festivals throughout the region. His debut album\, ‘Left My Soul in Memphis\,’ was recorded in a shotgun shack studio and was released in the fall of 2019. The sophomore scorcher\, ‘Little Black Flies’ dropped in 2021 and now Eddie and his band are on tour supporting his third album ‘Capricorn.’ This may well be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see this young artist on the rise! \nTickets are $30\, and we will have table seating\, which is the standard for our BYOB shows. DESCRIPTION:Hamilton-Gibson Productions announces its after school Winter Theatre Arts Camps in Elkland and Wellsboro for kids in grades 3-9. The two camps will be presenting the musical “Junie B. Jones JR” based on the beloved books by Barbara Park. \nThe camps are free and open to students attending public or private schools or who are home schooled. \nRegistration forms will soon be available at schools throughout Tioga County or can be found now on the hamiltongibson.org website or can be obtained by calling the HG office at 570-724-2079 or emailing hamgib@gmail.com. \nThe first after school camp is for third through ninth graders who reside in the Northern Tioga School District. It will be held for 12 days at the Clark Wood Elementary School at 110 Addison Hill Road In Elkland beginning on Wednesday\, Jan. 17 and continuing on selected dates through Thursday\, Feb. 1 with Pay-What-You-Can performances for the public at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday\, Feb. 2 and 3. \nThe second after school camp is for third through ninth graders who reside in the Southern Tioga and Wellsboro Area school districts. It will be held for 14 days at the Deane Center at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro beginning on Wednesday\, Feb. 14 and continuing on selected days through Thursday\, March 7 with Pay-What-You-Can performances for the public at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday\, March 8 and 9. \nCampers will rehearse and perform “Junie B. Jones\,” a delightful adaptation of four of Barbara Park’s best-selling books created specifically for Broadway Junior performers. \nThe campers will be taught choreography\, how to project their voices when speaking and singing and how to create a character – all while having fun. Among the show’s many songs are “You Can Be My Friend\,” “Lucille Camille Chenille\,” “Show and Tell” and “Sheldon Potts’ Halftime Show.” \nJoin Junie B. on her first day of first grade\, where many changes are in store. Junie’s best friend Lucille has found new best friends and Junie B. makes friends with Herb\, the new kid at school. While in Mr. Scary’s class\, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and may need glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady\, an intense kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal\,” and first grade has never been more exciting. \nFeaturing many lovable characters and fun-filled songs\, “Junie B. Jones JR” will capture the audience’s and performer’s hearts just as the books captivated an entire generation of students. \nCampers are expected to be at all scheduled rehearsals. The basic times are 3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. \nThe Winter Theatre Arts Camps are offered at no cost to campers due to generous grants from the Deerfield Charitable Trust and UPMC Wellsboro. Each camper will receive a tee shirt\, script\, rehearsal cd and instruction.

Conductor is Tom Kowalik.\n\n\nBeing offered at 1 p.m. on Dec. 9 is a free swing dance lesson at the Deane Center. “This is a great opportunity to come out and learn a few swing steps or brush up in advance of the Saturday night big band event\, which is part of Christmas on Main Street\,” said Kacy Hagan\, owner and instructor for Kacy’s Learn 2 Ballroom Dance.\n\n\n“I encourage people to take this free dance lesson. It’s fun and easy for all ages\,” she said.\n\n\nPeople who attend the free lesson will be taught some basic steps in Single Swing\, an easy-to-learn swing dance style perfect for dancing to big band music. No prior experience is necessary.\n\n\nAttendees can come as partners or singles to the class. Singles will be paired up or can dance on their own\, whichever they prefer. Wear comfortable shoes with smooth soles rather than sneakers to more easily turn on the dance floor.

DESCRIPTION:During the Golden Afternoons program at 1 p.m. on Tuesday\, Nov. 14\, Suzan Richar of Wellsboro will show people attending how to do two different Christmas craft projects to take home. All materials will be provided free.\n\n\nThis free program is open to anyone 55 years of age or older. It will be in the lobby at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. There will be free refreshments.\n\n\nAttendees are asked to bring shears to cut material and glue guns with them from home. “We will have some available but if the number of participants is as impressive as it has been in the past\, we will need more tools\,” Richar said.\n\n\nFor the first project\, Richar\, assisted by her best friend Linda Galeone\, will show participants how to make denim angels for a “Blue Christmas.”\n\n\n“If we have enough time\, we will also show them how to make a small Christmas tree ornament. Participants will have more choices in individualizing their trees\,” said Richar.\n\n\nSuzan and Linda have helped Golden Afternoons attendees make folded butterflies from paper\, Iris folding note cards\, popsicle stick mangers\, Christmas ornaments from wrapping paper and glittery putz houses from cardboard.\n\n\nFor more information about this Golden Afternoons program call the Deane Center at 570-724-6220.

DESCRIPTION:Little Hickory Productions is partnering with the Deane Center on a series of benefit concerts to bring the best of American Roots Music to Wellsboro\, Pennsylvania. \nThese concerts will directly benefit the music scholarships established in Sue’s name at the Rock L. Butler Middle School\, Wellsboro Area High School\, and Mansfield University. \nWe are excited that Verlon Thompson is joining us again at the Deane Center on Saturday\, October 28th to benefit the Sue Cunningham Music Scholarships! Verlon\, a multi-Grammy nominee\, is coming up from Nashville to help us honor Sue\, his close friend and musical partner. \nMolly Cary and Dan Shipe will open for Verlon to make this evening even more unique. Dan and Sue played together for many years in The Hickory Project and The Sue Cunningham Band and were the best of friends. Dan and Molly have been thrilling audiences with their beautiful harmonies\, and we are so happy to have them participate in this magical event. \nVIP Tickets are $50 and include a private reception sponsored by Conspiracy Coffee Co. and Bakery starting at 6 p.m. with an intimate performance and a meet and greet with Verlon before his show! Each VIP ticket will include a signed 8×10 photo of Verlon and a CD of Verlon and Sue. \nGeneral Admission tickets are $25 and will be available through the Deane Center for the Performing Arts. The music starts at 7:00 p.m. with Molly and Dan\, and Verlon will take the stage at 8:00 p.m. \nDoors to the lobby open at 6:00\, with music students from Mansfield University performing in the lobby before the show.
