SUMMARY:Galeton's 4th of July Celebration/RED SUSPENDER WEEKEND
DESCRIPTION:There’s nothing like a small town Fourth of July celebration – and nobody does one like the town of Galeton! \nBe part of the fun and fireworks when the annual Fourth of July “Red Suspender” weekend kicks off July 4th in the heart of town. \nOn hand will be Food Vendors\, Craft Vendors\, games\, activities\, and the favorite carnival attractions of a town festival! The Park opens Friday night July 4th at 5 p.m for an evening full of fun and entertainment. \nRunners will want to register for the 5K run on Saturday morning followed by the Fourth of July parade kicking off at 11 am on Saturday\, July 5th.  A day full of festivities is capped off at 10p.m. with the always fantastic “Best Fireworks Display”. \nFor more information\, visit the Galeton Chamber website.

DESCRIPTION:Galeton is the place to be on Saturday\, May 10th for what is always one of the region’s favorite events! \nThe Galeton Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its fifth annual King of the Wing chicken wing cook off contest on Saturday\, May 10th from 10am-5pm at the John J. Collins Memorial (Centertown) Park in Galeton.  Plan now to join friends new and old for a day filled with family fun\, great food\, and entertainment – all for the love of the “Buffalo Wing” and to raise money for the Galeton Fireworks Committee. \nWings will be judged at 4:30pm. SUMMARY:GLOW (Galeton's Lights On the Water) Festival
DESCRIPTION:Christmas in a Small Town and GLOW is our Chamber hosted event held the Saturday after Thanksgiving\, GLOW begins with Santa arriving to visit with the children and will be in the library with Mrs. Claus to hear all their wishes for Christmas.\nOutside events include refreshments in the park\, fire pits to warm by\, and community caroling. GLOW is a family event held in the John Collins Memorial Park – enjoy time with family and friends to start the holiday season.\nEach year GLOW ends with a BANG – GALETON STYLE – watch from the comfort of your vehicle anywhere around town or view them in the park.  Fireworks will start at 6:30 p.m.

DESCRIPTION:The Annual Galeton Fall Festival is held in the John J Collins Memorial Park in Centertown on September 21\, 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Rain or Shine). The event consists of many vendors sporting handmade and/or homemade items. From decorative items to children’s clothing\, hats\, maple products\, candles\, soaps and lotions\, woodworking items\, pottery\, primitive décor\, farm fresh products\, purses\, jewelry\, photography – you will be hard pressed to mention something you would not find!\n\n\nRemember demonstrators are also welcome. You may also find Animal Rescue Booths and Llama’s and Alpacas\, as well as wood carving with a chainsaw. The whole family can attend and you will be amazed at all the items and many would make great gifts just in time for the upcoming holidays!\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Galeton Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting vendors for this event! DESCRIPTION:Galeton’s 13th observance of World Wide Knitting in Public will be held in Centertown Park on June 10th from 10:00 until 1:30.   On this day knitters from all over the world gather. \nRegional and community members gather – knitters\, crocheters\, weavers\, spinners\, felters\, and others\, young and old\, will gather in Centertown Park. \nA 4-H Club will be demonstrating felting and the opportunity to try your hand at this satisfying craft.\nSome fiber-related groups and regional shepherds will bring fleeces\, yarn\, and products come to show their wares\, demonstrate their crafts\, offer tempting items for sale.  Accessories from local craftsperson’s will be offered. \nFur being spun from an angora rabbit is always an enticing event. \nThe Professional Bohemians will premier wonderful whimsical little sculptures. \nStorytime for children:  11:00 A fun knitting/sheep read at the Library. \nAND from 11 – 1:30 Eppie Bailey from Nashville and Steve Quelet from Philadelphia\, singers and songwriters formerly part of Jakob’s Hollow\, will entertain the gathering with their original music!
