Cherish the Ladies Concert

Wellsboro Community Concert Association presents a night of Irish music right on March 11th at the Deane Center right in time for the St. Patrick’s holiday!
Cherish the Ladies is celebrating four decades of making Irish music, song, and dance. The award winning long-running, Grammy-nominated, Irish-American super group formed in New York City in 1985. They’ve toured the world, played the White House and at the Olympics, recorded 17 outstanding albums and a live DVD, “An Irish Homecoming,” which recently won an Emmy. They’ve collaborated with such musicians as The Boston Pops, The Clancy Brothers, the Chieftains, Vince Gill, Nanci Griffith, Pete Seeger, Don Henley, Arlo Guthrie and Maura O’Connell.
Under the leadership of All-Ireland flute and whistle champion Joanie Madden along with founding member Mary Coogan (Guitar), Mirella Murray (Accordion), Kathleen Boyle (Piano), Nollaig Casey (Fiddle), and Kate Purcell (Lead Vocals, Guitar) the ladies create an evening that includes a spectacular blend of virtuoso instrumental talents, beautiful vocals, captivating arrangements. Cherish the Ladies always travel with the finest Irish dancers with World Champions, National Champions along with Riverdance and Lord of the dance alumni!
