The Wellsboro Art Club will host its annual Wellsboro Wilds Plein Air Competition and Festival from Friday, Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept. 13. The three-day event invites artists of all skill levels to explore and interpret the natural beauty of Tioga County through any two-dimensional medium.

The festival kicks off Friday evening at the Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center at 134 Main St., Wellsboro. In-person registration begins at 5:30 p.m.

This family-friendly, three-day event invites artists, art lovers, and community members to observe, create, purchase fresh original artwork, and mingle with local talent. Proceeds from the event support the Jane Weatherbee Art Scholarship Award for local graduating high school students.

Event Highlights

• Main Paint Out: Artists will capture breathtaking views across Tioga County throughout the weekend.

• Quick Draw Competition: A fast-paced, two-hour painting contest along historic Main Street.

• Prizes & Awards: Over $500 top prize for participating artists; winners will be announced during Sunday’s reception.

• Art Sale: Purchase unique plein air pieces created live during the event at the final reception.

• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

• Sunday: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Awards Ceremony & Art Sale)
