Wellsboro Community Concert Series – EarlJam a Tribute to Earl Scruggs

The Wellsboro Community Concert Association’s 78th season continues on Friday, February 26th with a concert being given in the Coolidge Theatre at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. The season runs from September to December of 2026 and from February to April of 2027.
Prepare for an unforgettable night with Tony Trischka, the “father of modern bluegrass” and a 2017 American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame inductee. This Syracuse native has spent over 50 years pushing the boundaries of the five-string banjo, earning multiple Grammy nods and taking home three IBMA awards in 2007 alone, including Banjo Player of the Year—plus, he recently teamed up with Billy Strings to win the 2024 IBMA Collaborative Recording of the Year for “Brown’s Ferry Blues,” and the powerhouse duo is nominated again for this October’s 2026 IBMA Awards for their track “Gentle on My Mind.” In this special concert, Tony presents his acclaimed project Earl Jam, a heartfelt tribute to his musical “North Star,” Earl Scruggs, backed by an elite “ace band” that brings found rare, archival Scruggs transcriptions to life with incredible precision and soul.
