An Afternoon of Traditional Music with Roderick Nevin
October 3 at 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
FREE

The Friends of the Mansfield Free Public Library, in conjunction with the History Center on Main Street, invite you to an afternoon with Mansfield native Roderick Nevin on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the History Center on Main Street, Mansfield.
Roderick Nevin grew up right here in Mansfield and is now a music educator and accomplished bagpiper in Reading, PA. He’ll be coming home to share an interactive program exploring Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson and Treasure Island through the music of Stevenson’s era. Enjoy live sea shanties, ballads, hornpipes, jigs, and reels performed on Scottish Highland pipes, bellows-blown small pipes, and whistle, while learning about the rich history behind these classic instruments and tunes.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to welcome a Mansfield native home and enjoy an afternoon filled with music, literature, history, and Scottish flair! Refreshments will follow.
